Our Community over the years

2014

The community kicks off with a series of meetups in April 2014 as ProductTank Bucharest, founded by Vladimir Oane, Liviu Lică and Valerian Banu, the UberVu/HootSuite Product team back then.

2020

The pandemic hit and for one year there were no gatherings organized in the community and all of the momentum had been lost.

2021

Ștefan Murariu and Bülent Duagi revived the community online, with a series of Regional meetups organized by Ștefan and small group ‘Solving Product Challenges with the Product Community’ sessions organized by Bülent.


2021 was the year the community hosted 11 gatherings, the most in its history.


2022

Inspired by his experience in other communities, Bülent Duagi launched the Product Mentoring Program, and was joined by community veterans as mentors for the first edition: Liviu Lică, Valerian Banu, Dragoș Mănescu and Ștefan Murariu.


The Product Mentoring Program grew to become a key pillar of our community.


2023+

The community has been expanding in scope, evolving from being a community for Product Managers to one for all Product Makers, including engineers, marketers, founders and designers.


The most active members are now from the whole country + experienced Romanians working abroad.


The range of community initiatives has been expanding a lot (see the next slide).


With all these developments, in March 2025 we became Product Makers Romania. Looking forward to the next chapters!
