What started in 2014 as a small group of meetups has grown into Romania's largest community of people who make digital products.

Product Makers Romania brings together engineers, designers, marketers and product managers, everyone who has a hand in building and growing digital products.
We are a bridge between experienced product leaders and those just starting out. Everything we run is free and powered by volunteers, organised around three things: connecting with the community, growing your craft, and building real-world impact.
12 years, one community.
It nearly ended once. Here is the short version of how it became what it is.
- 2014
It started as ProductTank Bucharest
Vladimir Oane, Liviu Lică and Valerian Banu, the UberVu and HootSuite product team, kicked off a series of meetups. Bülent Duagi, then at Bitdefender, joined the organising team soon after, and it grew steadily year on year.
- 2020
The pandemic nearly ended it
For a year there were no gatherings at all, and the momentum built over half a decade was lost.
- 2021
Revived, online
Ștefan Murariu and Bülent Duagi brought it back with regional meetups and small-group problem-solving sessions. Eleven gatherings that year, the most in the community's history.
- 2022
The Mentoring Program took off
Bülent launched the Product Mentoring Program with veteran mentors Liviu Lică, Valerian Banu, Dragoș Mănescu and Ștefan Murariu. It quickly became a cornerstone of the community.
- 2025
Product Makers Romania
The community had grown from product managers to all product makers: engineers, marketers, founders and designers. In March 2025 it took the name it carries today, now running 20+ initiatives.
